Job 15:6

²²“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.

²⁰Though I am righteous, my own mouth will condemn me. Though I am blameless, it will prove me perverse.

³⁷For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

²“Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s,’ ³that you ask, ‘What advantage will it be to you? What profit will I have, more than if I had sinned?’

⁸Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?

⁸“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying, ⁹‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me. ¹⁰Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy. ¹¹He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.’ ¹²“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.

³You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ therefore I have uttered that which I didn’t understand, things too wonderful for me, which I didn’t know.

⁵For Job has said, ‘I am righteous, God has taken away my right. ⁶Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.’ ⁷What man is like Job, who drinks scorn like water, ⁸who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men? ⁹For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.’

⁸Their own tongues shall ruin them. All who see them will shake their heads.

⁶⁵Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
