John 20:17

²⁸I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

⁸Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”

⁹Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.

⁶And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba,^[+] Father!” ⁷So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹¹I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.

¹⁷that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, ¹⁸having the eyes of your hearts^[+] enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might ²⁰which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. ²²He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly, ²³which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

²⁶For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.

¹⁸You have ascended on high. You have led away captives. You have received gifts among people, yes, among the rebellious also, that the LORD

¹¹For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,^12[+] saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the congregation I will sing your praise.”

¹³Again, “I will put my trust in him.” Again, “Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”

¹⁹So then the Lord,^[+] after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
