John 18:18

⁵⁴Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.

⁵⁵When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat among them. ⁵⁶A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”

²⁵Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, “You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not.”

⁶⁷and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus!”

⁴I have not sat with deceitful men, neither will I go in with hypocrites. ⁵I hate the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked. ⁶I will wash my hands in innocence, so I will go about your altar, LORD, ⁷that I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard and tell of all your wondrous deeds. ⁸LORD, I love the habitation of your house, the place where your glory dwells. ⁹Don’t gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men ¹⁰in whose hands is wickedness; their right hand is full of bribes.

¹Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers;

⁹So when they got out on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, with fish and bread laid on it.

²⁰One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

¹¹Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. ¹²For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.

⁶My soul, don’t come into their council. My glory, don’t be united to their assembly; for in their anger they killed men. In their self-will they hamstrung cattle.
