John 1:9

⁴⁶I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.

⁴In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

⁸Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light already shines.

⁶Indeed, he says, “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”

⁴But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief. ⁵You are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness, ⁶so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober. ⁷For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.

⁷The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him.

²⁰We know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

⁶Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

³²Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn’t Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.

²⁰Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.
