Isaiah 33:2

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, ⁴who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

¹⁸Therefore the LORD will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him. ¹⁹For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.

¹⁶He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. Therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness sustained him.

⁸Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.

¹¹Give us help against the adversary, for the help of man is vain.

²⁷Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it. The LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.

⁴But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared. ⁵I wait for the LORD. My soul waits. I hope in his word. ⁶My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. ⁷Israel, hope in the LORD, for there is loving kindness with the LORD. Abundant redemption is with him. ⁸He will redeem Israel from all their sins.

⁹It shall be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is the LORD! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!”

¹God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

²⁵The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. ²⁶It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
