Haggai 1:5

⁴⁰Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

⁵Examine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don’t you know about your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

⁷“This is what the LORD of Armies says: ‘Consider your ways.

¹⁵Now, please consider from this day and backward, before a stone was laid on a stone in the LORD’s temple. ¹⁶Through all that time, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were only ten. When one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty, there were only twenty. ¹⁷I struck you with blight, mildew, and hail in all the work of your hands; yet you didn’t turn to me,’ says the LORD. ¹⁸‘Consider, please, from this day and backward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid, consider it.

¹⁷But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough to spare, and I’m dying with hunger!

²¹Whoever didn’t respect the LORD’s word left his servants and his livestock in the field.

⁴But let each man examine his own work, and then he will have reason to boast in himself, and not in someone else.

²³Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he didn’t even take this to heart.

¹⁴Then the king, when he heard these words, was very displeased, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored until the going down of the sun to rescue him.

⁴The man said to me, “Son of man, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart on all that I will show you; for you have been brought here so that I may show them to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.”
