Genesis 30:6

⁵⁹LORD, you have seen my wrong. Judge my cause.

²⁴Vindicate me, LORD my God, according to your righteousness. Don’t let them gloat over me.

¹Vindicate me, God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation. Oh, deliver me from deceitful and wicked men.

¹⁶“Dan will judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. ¹⁷Dan will be a serpent on the trail, an adder in the path, that bites the horse’s heels, so that his rider falls backward.

²⁵The sons of Bilhah (Rachel’s servant): Dan and Naphtali.

¹⁴I will make them to pass with your enemies into a land which you don’t know; for a fire is kindled in my anger, which will burn on you.” ¹⁵LORD, you know. Remember me, visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors. You are patient, so don’t take me away. Know that for your sake I have suffered reproach. ¹⁶Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by your name, LORD, God of Armies. ¹⁷I didn’t sit in the assembly of those who make merry and rejoice. I sat alone because of your hand, for you have filled me with indignation. ¹⁸Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? Will you indeed be to me as a deceitful brook, like waters that fail?

¹⁹Therefore the LORD says, “If you return, then I will bring you again, that you may stand before me; and if you take out the precious from the vile, you will be as my mouth. They will return to you, but you will not return to them. ²⁰I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall. They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you to save you and to deliver you,” says the LORD.

²²About Dan he said, “Dan is a lion’s cub that leaps out of Bashan.”

²So I bought a belt according to the LORD’s word, and put it on my waist.

²⁴“Therefore I will scatter them as the stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.

³²Leah conceived, and bore a son, and she named him Reuben. For she said, “Because the LORD has looked at my affliction; for now my husband will love me.” ³³She conceived again, and bore a son, and said, “Because the LORD has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.” She named him Simeon. ³⁴She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “Now this time my husband will be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi. ³⁵She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “This time I will praise the LORD.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
