Genesis 27:19

⁷⁰But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

⁷¹When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

⁷²Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”

⁷³After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”

⁷⁴Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.

³It will happen that when anyone still prophesies, then his father and his mother who bore him will tell him, ‘You must die, because you speak lies in the LORD’s name;’ and his father and his mother who bore him will stab him when he prophesies. ⁴It will happen in that day that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they won’t wear a hairy mantle to deceive,

¹⁵“Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and we are in agreement with Sheol.^[+] When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’”

²³In the evening, he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to Jacob. He went in to her. ²⁴Laban gave Zilpah his servant to his daughter Leah for a servant. ²⁵In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”

²¹Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.”

²⁵The first came out red all over, like a hairy garment. They named him Esau.

²⁴He said, “Are you really my son Esau?” He said, “I am.”

²⁵He said, “Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless you.” He brought it near to him, and he ate. He brought him wine, and he drank.

⁴Make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat, and that my soul may bless you before I die.”

²Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please get up and disguise yourself, so that you won’t be recognized as Jeroboam’s wife. Go to Shiloh. Behold, Ahijah the prophet is there, who said that I would be king over this people.

¹⁸He said to him, “I also am a prophet as you are; and an angel spoke to me by the LORD’s word, saying, ‘Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’” He lied to him.
