Genesis 1:11

⁷For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it and produces a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God;

¹⁴He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may produce food out of the earth: ¹⁵wine that makes the heart of man glad, oil to make his face to shine, and bread that strengthens man’s heart. ¹⁶The LORD’s trees are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted, ¹⁷where the birds make their nests. The stork makes its home in the cypress trees.

⁸who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass grow on the mountains.

²⁹God said, “Behold, ^[+] I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.

⁹You visit the earth, and water it. You greatly enrich it. The river of God is full of water. You provide them grain, for so you have ordained it. ¹⁰You drench its furrows. You level its ridges. You soften it with showers. You bless it with a crop. ¹¹You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance. ¹²The wilderness grasslands overflow. The hills are clothed with gladness. ¹³The pastures are covered with flocks. The valleys also are clothed with grain. They shout for joy! They also sing.

⁹Out of the ground the LORD God made every tree to grow that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

³⁰But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?

⁵As for the earth, out of it comes bread. Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.

²⁸For the earth bears fruit by itself: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

¹⁶By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles? ¹⁷Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. ¹⁸A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. ¹⁹Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. ²⁰Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
