Galatians 3:24

⁴For Christ is the fulfillment^[+] of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

³⁸Be it known to you therefore, brothers,^[+] that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins; ³⁹and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

¹For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near. ²Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins? ³But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins. ⁴For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. ⁵Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me. ⁶You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin. ⁷Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”

⁸Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law), ⁹then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second, ¹⁰by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

¹¹Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, ¹²but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God, ¹³from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet. ¹⁴For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

²⁴What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? ²⁵I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, sin’s law.

¹⁷“Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill. ¹⁸For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter^[+] or one tiny pen stroke^[+] shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.

¹⁶yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.

¹⁷which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.

¹⁹For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God.

¹⁸For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness ¹⁹(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

²but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father. ³So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world.
