Ezekiel 6:13

²⁸For when I had brought them into the land which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There they also made their pleasant aroma, and there they poured out their drink offerings.

¹³They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains, and burn incense on the hills, under oaks, poplars, and terebinths, because its shade is good. Therefore your daughters play the prostitute, and your brides commit adultery.

²³For they also built for themselves high places, sacred pillars, and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree.

²⁰“For long ago I broke off your yoke, and burst your bonds. You said, ‘I will not serve;’ for on every high hill and under every green tree you bowed yourself, playing the prostitute.

⁴He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

⁵you who inflame yourselves among the oaks, under every green tree; who kill the children in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks? ⁶Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion. They, they are your lot. You have even poured a drink offering to them. You have offered an offering. Shall I be appeased for these things? ⁷On a high and lofty mountain you have set your bed. You also went up there to offer sacrifice.

⁴Your altars will become desolate, and your incense altars will be broken. I will cast down your slain men before your idols. ⁵I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel before their idols. I will scatter your bones around your altars. ⁶In all your dwelling places, the cities will be laid waste and the high places will be desolate, so that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. ⁷The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the LORD.

²⁹For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.

⁶Moreover, the LORD said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has played the prostitute there.

³a people who provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and burning incense on bricks; ⁴who sit among the graves, and spend nights in secret places; who eat pig’s meat, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
