Exodus 18:8

¹⁰He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

⁹“You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea, ¹⁰and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, against all his servants, and against all the people of his land, for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is today. ¹¹You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the middle of the sea on the dry land; and you cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters. ¹²Moreover, in a pillar of cloud you led them by day; and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way in which they should go.

¹³“You also came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments, ¹⁴and made known to them your holy Sabbath, and commanded them commandments, statutes, and a law, by Moses your servant, ¹⁵and gave them bread from the sky for their hunger, and brought water out of the rock for them for their thirst, and commanded them that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.

¹⁴Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, saying: “Your brother Israel says: You know all the travail that has happened to us;

³²Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness, don’t let all the travail seem little before you that has come on us, on our kings, on our princes, on our priests, on our prophets, on our fathers, and on all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria to this day.

⁴One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts. ⁵I will meditate on the glorious majesty of your honor, on your wondrous works. ⁶Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness. ⁷They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness. ⁸The LORD is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness. ⁹The LORD is good to all. His tender mercies are over all his works. ¹⁰All your works will give thanks to you, LORD. Your saints will extol you. ¹¹They will speak of the glory of your kingdom, and talk about your power, ¹²to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, the glory of the majesty of his kingdom.

⁴²They didn’t remember his hand, nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary; ⁴³how he set his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the field of Zoan,

²Let the redeemed by the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

⁷You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah.” Selah.

²²Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. ²³When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah.^24[+] The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”

¹⁶Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone, until your people pass over, LORD, until the people you have purchased pass over.
