Exodus 18:1

¹⁴You are the God who does wonders. You have made your strength known among the peoples. ¹⁵You have redeemed your people with your arm, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

¹⁶Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. They came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

¹Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God’s mountain, to Horeb.

¹¹Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, “Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?” ¹²Who caused his glorious arm to be at Moses’ right hand? Who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name? ¹³Who led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble?

⁵⁰He made a path for his anger. He didn’t spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence, ⁵¹and struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham. ⁵²But he led out his own people like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. ⁵³He led them safely, so that they weren’t afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

⁹They said to him, “Your servants have come from a very far country because of the name of the LORD^[+] your God; for we have heard of his fame, all that he did in Egypt,

²³The LORD of Armies says: “In those days, ten men out of all the languages of the nations will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, ‘We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

¹We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.

²⁷When they had arrived and had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.

³⁵“This Moses whom they refused, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—God has sent him as both a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. ³⁶This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.
