Acts 5:32

²⁶“When the Counselor^[+] has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me. ²⁷You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

³how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard, ⁴God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

⁸But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

⁴⁷and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ⁴⁸You are witnesses of these things.

¹²To them it was revealed that they served not themselves, but you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

³¹and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

³⁹We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also^[+] hanging him on a tree. ⁴⁰God raised him up the third day and gave him to be revealed, ⁴¹not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

²⁹But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

⁷Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. ⁸When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment; ⁹about sin, because they don’t believe in me; ¹⁰about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more; ¹¹about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.

¹²“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now. ¹³However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. ¹⁴He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.

⁴They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
