2 Samuel 16:20

¹²The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. ¹³The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.

¹⁰Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.”

¹⁰Come, let’s deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it happen that when any war breaks out, they also join themselves to our enemies and fight against us, and escape out of the land.”

²³Being let go, they came to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. ²⁴When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them; ²⁵who by the mouth of your servant David, said, ‘Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing? ²⁶The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers plot together, against the Lord, and against his Christ.’

²⁷“^[+] For truly,^[+] both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, ²⁸to do whatever your hand and your counsel foreordained to happen.

¹Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death.

²The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Anointed,

³⁰There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

¹⁵Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from the LORD, and whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us?”
