2 Corinthians 4:5

²⁴We don’t control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

⁵For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (God is witness), ⁶nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.

²³but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks,

¹⁴For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died. ¹⁵He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.

¹³For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

¹⁵Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.

¹¹and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁵Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed, and each as the Lord gave to him? ⁶I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase.

¹⁹For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law,^[+] that I might gain those who are under the law; ²¹to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law. ²²To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. ²³Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.

¹¹whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
