1 Thessalonians 2:5

⁹For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,

¹⁷Did I take advantage of you by anyone of those whom I have sent to you?

³³I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.

²⁰Now about the things which I write to you, behold,^[+] before God, I’m not lying.

³In covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old doesn’t linger, and their destruction will not slumber.

²shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily; not for dishonest gain, but willingly;

²Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.

⁷For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

¹²merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble; ¹³and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, horses, chariots, and people’s bodies and souls.

¹⁰You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.
