1 Timothy 5:3

¹⁹‘Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, fatherless, and widow.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

¹Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, a complaint arose from the Hellenists^[+] against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily service.

¹⁸He executes justice for the fatherless and widow and loves the foreigner in giving him food and clothing.

²⁹The Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, as well as the foreigner living among you, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

¹⁷Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

¹⁶If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don’t let the assembly be burdened, that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.

¹⁷Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.

¹⁴You shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates.

¹²“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

⁴But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family and to repay their parents, for this is^[+] in the sight of God. ⁵Now she who is a widow indeed and desolate, has her hope set on God and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

¹¹You shall rejoice before the LORD your God: you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, in the place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there.
