1 Peter 5:2

⁷For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

⁸Servants,^[+] in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money,

¹Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,

²⁶Therefore I testify to you today that I am clean from the blood of all men, ²⁷for I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. ²⁸Take heed, therefore, to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and^[+] God which he purchased with his own blood.

³not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;

²“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep? ³You eat the fat. You clothe yourself with the wool. You kill the fatlings, but you don’t feed the sheep.

⁷What soldier ever serves at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and doesn’t eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and doesn’t drink from the flock’s milk?

³²“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

¹⁰“Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you,” says the LORD of Armies, “neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

²³I will set up one shepherd over them, and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.
