1 Samuel 2:6

³⁹“See now that I myself am he. There is no god with me. I kill and I make alive. I wound and I heal. There is no one who can deliver out of my hand.

¹⁹Your dead shall live. Their dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth will cast out the departed spirits.

¹⁸and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

¹⁸For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole.

²He said, “I called because of my affliction to the LORD. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol^[+] I cried. You heard my voice. ³For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me. ⁴I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’ ⁵The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head. ⁶I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever; yet you have brought my life up from the pit, LORD my God.

⁷When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.”

²⁵Most certainly I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God’s voice; and those who hear will live. ²⁶For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself. ²⁷He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man. ²⁸Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes in which all who are in the tombs will hear his voice ²⁹and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

¹“Come! Let’s return to the LORD; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds. ²After two days he will revive us. On the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.

²⁵Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.

³David swore moreover, and said, “Your father knows well that I have found favor in your eyes; and he says, ‘Don’t let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved;’ but truly as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.”
