1 Peter 3:5

³and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good, ⁴that they may train the young wives to love their husbands, to love their children,

⁵Now she who is a widow indeed and desolate, has her hope set on God and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

³⁷and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

³⁰Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

¹⁰being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

²and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out; ³and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others who served them^[+] from their possessions.

³⁶Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated means Dorcas.^[+] This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did.

¹⁵but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with sobriety.

¹¹By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.

²seeing your pure behavior in fear. ³Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing, ⁴but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.
