1 John 5:13

³¹but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

¹²But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:

²³This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.

¹⁰Therefore, brothers,^[+] be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble. ¹¹For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

¹⁸He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.

¹⁵The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. ¹⁶However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.

^21[+] I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

⁶And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba,^[+] Father!”

¹⁵For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba!^[+] Father!”

¹⁶The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; ¹⁷and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

¹⁰He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
