1 John 4:16

²⁴He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

⁷How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings. ⁸They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house. You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures. ⁹For with you is the spring of life. In your light we will see light.

¹See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.

⁸He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love. ⁹By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born^[+] Son into the world that we might live through him. ¹⁰In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice^[+] for our sins.

¹I love you, LORD, my strength. ²The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower. ³I call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; and I am saved from my enemies.

¹²No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.

¹³By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

¹⁶By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

¹⁹Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men!

⁹But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”

⁶⁹We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
