1 Corinthians 13:13

¹⁴Let all that you do be done in love.

¹⁴Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.

⁷Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. ⁸He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love. ⁹By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born^[+] Son into the world that we might live through him. ¹⁰In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice^[+] for our sins. ¹¹Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. ¹²No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.

¹³By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world. ¹⁵Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. ¹⁶We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. ¹⁷In this, love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so we are in this world. ¹⁸There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

¹If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. ²If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing. ³If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.

⁴Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, ⁵doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; ⁶doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; ⁷bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

⁸Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

⁶For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love.

²⁹Jesus answered, “The greatest is: ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. ³⁰You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’This is the first commandment. ³¹The second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.”

⁹This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

²¹This I recall to my mind; therefore I have hope. ²²It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don’t fail. ²³They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. ²⁴“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul. “Therefore I will hope in him.” ²⁵The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. ²⁶It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

⁵But the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith,

⁸But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
