1 Chronicles 29:23

¹²Solomon sat on David his father’s throne; and his kingdom was firmly established.

⁵Of all my sons (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the LORD’s kingdom over Israel.

¹Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.

¹¹Now, my son, may the LORD be with you and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has spoken concerning you.

¹¹The LORD has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

⁶For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Armies will perform this.

²I say, “Keep the king’s command!” because of the oath to God. ³Don’t be hasty to go out of his presence. Don’t persist in an evil thing, for he does whatever pleases him, ⁴for the king’s word is supreme. Who can say to him, “What are you doing?” ⁵Whoever keeps the commandment shall not come to harm, and his wise heart will know the time and procedure.

¹¹It will happen, when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your offspring after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. ¹²He will build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.
