Zephaniah 1:15

²A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. As the dawn spreading on the mountains, a great and strong people; there has never been the like, neither will there be any more after them, even to the years of many generations.

¹⁷for the great day of his wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

⁵For it is a day of confusion, and of treading down, and of perplexity from the Lord, GOD ^[+] of Armies, in the valley of vision, a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.”

⁷Alas, for that day is great, so that none is like it! It is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he will be saved out of it.

¹⁸“Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light. ¹⁹As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him. ²⁰Won’t the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

⁷But the heavens that exist now and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

²before the appointed time when the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD comes on you, before the day of the LORD’s anger comes on you.

⁴Let that day be darkness. Don’t let God from above seek for it, neither let the light shine on it. ⁵Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own. Let a cloud dwell on it. Let all that makes the day black terrify it. ⁶As for that night, let thick darkness seize on it. Let it not rejoice among the days of the year. Let it not come into the number of the months. ⁷Behold, let that night be barren. Let no joyful voice come therein. ⁸Let them curse it who curse the day, who are ready to rouse up leviathan.

¹⁸Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s wrath, but the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy; for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those who dwell in the land.

¹¹The LORD thunders his voice before his army, for his forces are very great; for he is strong who obeys his command; for the day of the LORD is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?
