Romans 12:15

²⁶When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

³Remember those who are in bonds, as bound with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you are also in the body.

¹³But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting. My prayer returned into my own bosom. ¹⁴I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as one who mourns his mother.

³³When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit and was troubled, ³⁴and said, “Where have you laid him?” They told him, “Lord, come and see.”

³⁵Jesus wept.

³⁶The Jews therefore said, “See how much affection he had for him!”

²⁵Didn’t I weep for him who was in trouble? Wasn’t my soul grieved for the needy?

⁵⁸Her neighbors and her relatives heard that the Lord had magnified his mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.

¹⁷Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. ¹⁸In the same way, you also should be glad and rejoice with me.

¹Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

²³who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.

⁵When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ ⁷I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.

⁸“Or what woman, if she had ten drachma^[+] coins, if she lost one drachma coin, wouldn’t light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she found it? ⁹When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma which I had lost!’ ¹⁰Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.”
