Psalms 69:2

²He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.

²⁵The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.

⁶Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

⁶You have laid me in the lowest pit, in the darkest depths. ⁷Your wrath lies heavily on me. You have afflicted me with all your waves. Selah.

⁶For this, let everyone who is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found. Surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach to him.

²²‘Behold, all the women who are left in the king of Judah’s house will be brought out to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women will say, “Your familiar friends have turned on you, and have prevailed over you. Your feet are sunk in the mire, they have turned away from you.”

³⁷He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled. ³⁸Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me.”

¹⁷The flood was forty days on the earth. The waters increased, and lifted up the ship, and it was lifted up above the earth. ¹⁸The waters rose, and increased greatly on the earth; and the ship floated on the surface of the waters. ¹⁹The waters rose very high on the earth. All the high mountains that were under the whole sky were covered. ²⁰The waters rose fifteen cubits^[+] higher, and the mountains were covered. ²¹All flesh died that moved on the earth, including birds, livestock, animals, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. ²²All on the dry land, in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died. ²³Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including man, livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship.

²⁶Your rowers have brought you into great waters. The east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas. ²⁷Your riches, your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war who are in you, with all your company which is among you, will fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin. ²⁸At the sound of the cry of your pilots, the pasture lands will shake. ²⁹All who handle the oars, the mariners and all the pilots of the sea, will come down from their ships. They will stand on the land, ³⁰and will cause their voice to be heard over you, and will cry bitterly. They will cast up dust on their heads. They will wallow in the ashes. ³¹They will make themselves bald for you, and clothe themselves with sackcloth. They will weep for you in bitterness of soul, with bitter mourning. ³²In their wailing they will take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, saying, ‘Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the middle of the sea?’ ³³When your wares came from the seas, you filled many peoples. You enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise. ³⁴In the time that you were broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company fell within you.
