Psalms 45:7

⁹You have loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.”

⁶For you make him most blessed forever. You make him glad with joy in your presence.

¹The Lord GOD’s Spirit is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to those who are bound,^2[+] to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, ³to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.

⁵He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of the LORD.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

¹⁸He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence. ¹⁹For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him,

¹⁸“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted,^[+] to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, ¹⁹and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

²⁰He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him. ²¹He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

³⁴For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.

²⁰I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,

²⁸You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
