Psalms 35:20

⁴They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit and kill him.

¹⁹But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter. I didn’t know that they had devised plans against me, saying, “Let’s destroy the tree with its fruit, and let’s cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.”

²²who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”²³When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

²⁴But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”

¹⁹He will not strive, nor shout, neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

⁴to shoot innocent men from ambushes. They shoot at him suddenly and fearlessly. ⁵They encourage themselves in evil plans. They talk about laying snares secretly. They say, “Who will see them?” ⁶They plot injustice, saying, “We have made a perfect plan!” Surely man’s mind and heart are cunning.

⁵Woe is me, that I live in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar! ⁶My soul has had her dwelling too long with him who hates peace. ⁷I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.

³asking a favor against him, that he would summon him to Jerusalem, plotting to kill him on the way.

⁵Then these men said, “We won’t find any occasion against this Daniel, unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

³The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good. ⁴He plots iniquity on his bed. He sets himself in a way that is not good. He doesn’t abhor evil.
