Psalms 30:3

¹⁰For you will not leave my soul in Sheol,^[+] neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.

¹³For your loving kindness is great toward me. You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

¹⁷Behold, for peace I had great anguish, but you have in love for my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption; for you have cast all my sins behind your back. ¹⁸For Sheol^[+] can’t praise you. Death can’t celebrate you. Those who go down into the pit can’t hope for your truth.

¹To you, LORD, I call. My rock, don’t be deaf to me, lest, if you are silent to me, I would become like those who go down into the pit.

⁴I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’ ⁵The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head. ⁶I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever; yet you have brought my life up from the pit, LORD my God.

²⁰You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles, you will let me live. You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.

¹I waited patiently for the LORD. He turned to me, and heard my cry. ²He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.

²⁸He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’

¹⁹“He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones, ²⁰so that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food. ²¹His flesh is so consumed away that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out. ²²Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.

¹³For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
