Psalms 20:2

⁴⁴“If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to the LORD toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name, ⁴⁵then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

³²What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.

¹⁶He built twenty cubits of the back part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling. He built this within, for an inner sanctuary, even for the most holy place.

⁸They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying, ⁹‘If evil comes on us—the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this house, and before you (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.’

⁶Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel is great among you!”

⁴I cry to the LORD with my voice, and he answers me out of his holy hill. Selah.

¹⁷until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.

⁷Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. This is David’s city.

¹⁷They brought in the LORD’s ark, and set it in its place in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

³⁴He will return the way that he came, and he won’t come to this city,’ says the LORD. ³⁵‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.’”
