Psalms 10:18

⁹The LORD will also be a high tower for the oppressed; a high tower in times of trouble.

³“Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.

⁴but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

¹⁴from men by your hand, LORD, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.

⁷Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? ⁸I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

⁴⁷The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is the Lord from heaven. ⁴⁸As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

¹LORD,^[+] God to whom vengeance belongs, you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine out. ²Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve. ³LORD, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph? ⁴They pour out arrogant words. All the evildoers boast. ⁵They break your people in pieces, LORD, and afflict your heritage. ⁶They kill the widow and the alien, and murder the fatherless.

¹⁸For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, as the enemies of the cross of Christ, ¹⁹whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who think about earthly things.

²⁵“But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But here he is now comforted and you are in anguish.

¹⁴But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.
