Proverbs 8:33

¹Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction. Pay attention and know understanding;

¹My son, pay attention to my wisdom. Turn your ear to my understanding,

¹¹But my people didn’t listen to my voice. Israel desired none of me. ¹²So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, that they might walk in their own counsels.

⁸My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;

²to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding; ³to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;

²⁵See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,

¹⁶But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”¹⁷So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

¹“Hey! Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ²Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which doesn’t satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness. ³Turn your ear, and come to me. Hear, and your soul will live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

²¹She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:

³⁵“This Moses whom they refused, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—God has sent him as both a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. ³⁶This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years. ³⁷This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The Lord our God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me.’
