Proverbs 8:11

¹⁴For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold. ¹⁵She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.

⁵Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth. ⁶Don’t forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you. ⁷Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.

¹²⁷Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more than pure gold.

¹⁰They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much fine gold, sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb.

¹⁶How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

¹⁵It can’t be gotten for gold, neither will silver be weighed for its price. ¹⁶It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.^17[+] Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold. ¹⁸No mention will be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies. ¹⁹The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it. It won’t be valued with pure gold.

¹⁵There is gold and abundance of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a rare jewel.

²⁶For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?

⁸Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be a loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ ⁹and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith,
