Proverbs 30:9

⁶According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted. Therefore they have forgotten me.

²⁰For when I have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.

⁴⁹“‘“Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and prosperous ease was in her and in her daughters. She also didn’t strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. ⁵⁰They were arrogant and committed abomination before me. Therefore I took them away when I saw it.

¹⁰You shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which he has given you.

¹¹Beware lest you forget the LORD your God, in not keeping his commandments, his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command you today; ¹²lest, when you have eaten and are full, and have built fine houses and lived in them; ¹³and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; ¹⁴then your heart might be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

²⁴“If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold, ‘You are my confidence;’ ²⁵If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gotten much; ²⁶if I have seen the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in splendor, ²⁷and my heart has been secretly enticed, and my hand threw a kiss from my mouth; ²⁸this also would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges, for I would have denied the God who is above.

²⁵They took fortified cities and a rich land, and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns dug out, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. So they ate, were filled, became fat, and delighted themselves in your great goodness.

²⁶“Nevertheless they were disobedient and rebelled against you, cast your law behind their back, killed your prophets that testified against them to turn them again to you, and they committed awful blasphemies.

¹⁵But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he abandoned God who made him, and rejected the Rock of his salvation.

¹⁰It shall be, when the LORD your God brings you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and goodly cities which you didn’t build, ¹¹and houses full of all good things which you didn’t fill, and cisterns dug out which you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive trees which you didn’t plant, and you shall eat and be full; ¹²then beware lest you forget the LORD, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

³¹Generation, consider the LORD’s word. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say, ‘We have broken loose. We will come to you no more’?

⁷“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD^[+] your God,^[+] for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
