Proverbs 3:30

²⁴The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient,

²²An angry man stirs up strife, and a wrathful man abounds in sin.

¹⁸If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. ¹⁹Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” ²⁰Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

²¹Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

⁸Don’t be hasty in bringing charges to court. What will you do in the end when your neighbor shames you? ⁹Debate your case with your neighbor, and don’t betray the confidence of another,

⁶A fool’s lips come into strife, and his mouth invites beatings.

¹⁴The beginning of strife is like breaching a dam, therefore stop contention before quarreling breaks out.

³⁹But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. ⁴⁰If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also. ⁴¹Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

⁶But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers! ⁷Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? ⁸No, but you yourselves do wrong and defraud, and that against your brothers.
