Proverbs 29:14

¹²It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, for the throne is established by righteousness.

⁴but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

⁴The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down.

²⁸Love and faithfulness keep the king safe. His throne is sustained by love.

²He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. ³The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness. ⁴He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces.

¹²For he will deliver the needy when he cries; the poor, who has no helper. ¹³He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy. ¹⁴He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in his sight.

²I indeed declare, “Love stands firm forever. You established the heavens. Your faithfulness is in them.”

¹⁶A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.

⁵Take away the wicked from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established in righteousness.

⁶For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Armies will perform this.
