Proverbs 25:16

²⁷It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it honorable to seek one’s own honor.

¹⁸Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

¹³My son, eat honey, for it is good, the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste; ¹⁴so you shall know wisdom to be to your soul. If you have found it, then there will be a reward: Your hope will not be cut off.

²⁵All the people came into the forest; and there was honey on the ground. ²⁶When the people had come to the forest, behold, honey was dripping, but no one put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath. ²⁷But Jonathan didn’t hear when his father commanded the people with the oath. Therefore he put out the end of the rod that was in his hand and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes brightened.

^15[+] He shall eat butter and honey when he knows to refuse the evil and choose the good.

³⁴“So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.

⁸After a while he returned to take her, and he went over to see the carcass of the lion; and behold, there was a swarm of bees in the body of the lion, and honey. ⁹He took it into his hands, and went on, eating as he went. He came to his father and mother and gave to them, and they ate, but he didn’t tell them that he had taken the honey out of the lion’s body.

²²It shall happen, that because of the abundance of milk which they shall give he shall eat butter, for everyone will eat butter and honey that is left within the land.

⁸You will vomit up the morsel which you have eaten and waste your pleasant words.
