Proverbs 14:23

¹⁹One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

²⁴The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.

¹⁰For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: “If anyone is not willing to work, don’t let him eat.” ¹¹For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies. ¹²Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.

³For as a dream comes with a multitude of cares, so a fool’s speech with a multitude of words.

¹⁰For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them. ¹¹We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end,

²⁷Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”

¹³Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

¹⁰One who winks with the eye causes sorrow, but a chattering fool will fall.
