Proverbs 11:4

¹⁸Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s wrath, but the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy; for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those who dwell in the land.

²Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.

¹The LORD said to Noah, “Come with all of your household into the ship, for I have seen your righteousness before me in this generation.

¹⁹They will cast their silver in the streets, and their gold will be as an unclean thing. Their silver and their gold won’t be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s wrath. They won’t satisfy their souls or fill their bellies; because it has been the stumbling block of their iniquity.

⁸For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now and of that which is to come.

⁶Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches— ⁷none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him. ⁸For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,

²⁶For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?

²⁰“But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’

²⁸In the way of righteousness is life; in its path there is no death.

¹⁸Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside. ¹⁹Would your wealth sustain you in distress, or all the might of your strength?
