Proverbs 11:18

⁸For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. ⁹Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up.

⁸He who digs a pit may fall into it; and whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake.

¹⁸Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

¹²Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness. Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and rains righteousness on you. ¹³You have plowed wickedness. You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, for you trusted in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men.

⁸He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed.

⁵Those who sow in tears will reap in joy. ⁶He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.

¹⁸but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.

²²The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare him. The cords of his sin hold him firmly.

⁵They hatch adders’ eggs and weave the spider’s web. He who eats of their eggs dies; and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper. ⁶Their webs won’t become garments. They won’t cover themselves with their works. Their works are works of iniquity, and acts of violence are in their hands. ⁷Their feet run to evil, and they hurry to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity. Desolation and destruction are in their paths. ⁸They don’t know the way of peace; and there is no justice in their ways. They have made crooked paths for themselves; whoever goes in them doesn’t know peace.

¹³“This is the portion of a wicked man with God, the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty. ¹⁴If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword. His offspring will not be satisfied with bread. ¹⁵Those who remain of him will be buried in death. His widows will make no lamentation. ¹⁶Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay; ¹⁷he may prepare it, but the just will put it on, and the innocent will divide the silver. ¹⁸He builds his house as the moth, as a booth which the watchman makes. ¹⁹He lies down rich, but he will not do so again. He opens his eyes, and he is not. ²⁰Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night. ²¹The east wind carries him away, and he departs. It sweeps him out of his place. ²²For it hurls at him, and does not spare, as he flees away from his hand. ²³Men will clap their hands at him, and will hiss him out of his place.
