Numbers 29:12

¹³You shall keep the feast of booths seven days, after you have gathered in from your threshing floor and from your wine press. ¹⁴You shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates.

⁹By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. ¹⁰For he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

¹¹By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised. ¹²Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.

¹³These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen^[+] them and embraced them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

¹⁸Also day by day, from the first day to the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. They kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according to the ordinance.

¹⁴They found written in the law how the LORD had commanded by Moses that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month;

²²“You shall observe the feast of weeks with the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of harvest at the year’s end.

¹⁶And the feast of harvest, the first fruits of your labors, which you sow in the field; and the feast of ingathering, at the end of the year, when you gather in your labors out of the field.

³³The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ³⁴“Speak to the children of Israel, and say, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of booths^[+] for seven days to the LORD. ³⁵On the first day shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no regular work. ³⁶Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you. You shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly; you shall do no regular work.

³⁷“‘These are the appointed feasts of the LORD which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering, a meal offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, each on its own day— ³⁸in addition to the Sabbaths of the LORD, and in addition to your gifts, and in addition to all your vows, and in addition to all your free will offerings, which you give to the LORD.

³⁹“‘So on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you shall keep the feast of the LORD seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. ⁴⁰You shall take on the first day the fruit of majestic trees, branches of palm trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. ⁴¹You shall keep it as a feast to the LORD seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations. You shall keep it in the seventh month. ⁴²You shall dwell in temporary shelters^[+] for seven days. All who are native-born in Israel shall dwell in temporary shelters,^43[+] that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in temporary shelters^[+] when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’”

¹⁶It will happen that everyone who is left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of Armies, and to keep the feast of booths. ¹⁷It will be that whoever of all the families of the earth doesn’t go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Armies, on them there will be no rain. ¹⁸If the family of Egypt doesn’t go up and doesn’t come, neither will it rain on them. This will be the plague with which the LORD will strike the nations that don’t go up to keep the feast of booths. ¹⁹This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that don’t go up to keep the feast of booths.

²⁵“‘“In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, during the feast, he shall do like that for seven days. He shall make the same provision for sin offering, the burnt offering, the meal offering, and the oil.”

¹⁴The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born^[+] of the Father, full of grace and truth.
