Numbers 28:26

¹⁶And the feast of harvest, the first fruits of your labors, which you sow in the field; and the feast of ingathering, at the end of the year, when you gather in your labors out of the field.

²²“You shall observe the feast of weeks with the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of harvest at the year’s end.

¹⁰“Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest.

⁹You shall count for yourselves seven weeks. From the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain you shall begin to count seven weeks. ¹⁰You shall keep the feast of weeks to the LORD your God with a tribute of a free will offering of your hand, which you shall give according to how the LORD your God blesses you. ¹¹You shall rejoice before the LORD your God: you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, in the place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there.

²⁰But now Christ has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruit of those who are asleep.

¹⁵“‘You shall count from the next day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. ¹⁶The next day after the seventh Sabbath you shall count fifty days; and you shall offer a new meal offering to the LORD. ¹⁷You shall bring out of your habitations two loaves of bread for a wave offering made of two tenths of an ephah^[+] of fine flour. They shall be baked with yeast, for first fruits to the LORD. ¹⁸You shall present with the bread seven lambs without defect a year old, one young bull, and two rams. They shall be a burnt offering to the LORD, with their meal offering and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to the LORD. ¹⁹You shall offer one male goat for a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old for a sacrifice of peace offerings. ²⁰The priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to the LORD for the priest. ²¹You shall make proclamation on the same day that there shall be a holy convocation to you. You shall do no regular work. This is a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

¹Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place. ²Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ³Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. ⁴They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.

⁵Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky. ⁶When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language. ⁷They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans? ⁸How do we hear, everyone in our own native language? ⁹Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, ¹⁰Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, ¹¹Cretans and Arabians—we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!” ¹²They were all amazed and were perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” ¹³Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”

¹⁸In the first day shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no regular work,

¹⁸Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
