Nehemiah 4:8

³They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones. ⁴“Come,” they say, “let’s destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” ⁵For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you. ⁶The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites; ⁷Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; ⁸Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. Selah. ⁹Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon; ¹⁰who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth. ¹¹Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,

¹Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing? ²The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Anointed,³“Let’s ^[+] break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”

¹²When it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul. ¹³There were more than forty people who had made this conspiracy.

⁹Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered! ¹⁰Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.”

¹⁰For I have heard the defaming of many: “Terror on every side! Denounce, and we will denounce him!” say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. “Perhaps he will be persuaded, and we will prevail against him, and we will take our revenge on him.”
