Micah 7:8

^12[+] Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

¹The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

²The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. The light has shined on those who lived in the land of the shadow of death.

⁴Light dawns in the darkness for the upright, gracious, merciful, and righteous.

¹⁰Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron, ¹¹because they rebelled against the words of God, ^[+] and condemned the counsel of the Most High. ¹²Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down, and there was no one to help. ¹³Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. ¹⁴He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke away their chains. ¹⁵Let them praise the LORD for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!

¹⁶for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity. ¹⁷Don’t rejoice when your enemy falls. Don’t let your heart be glad when he is overthrown, ¹⁸lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

¹²But don’t look down on your brother in the day of his disaster, and don’t rejoice over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction. Don’t speak proudly in the day of distress.

⁶seeing it is God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,”who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹¹For the LORD God is a sun and a shield. The LORD will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.

¹¹Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
