Matthew 25:8

⁹The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.

³⁵“Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.

¹Let’s fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.

²⁰What was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word and immediately with joy receives it; ²¹yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

⁹Behold, I make some of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but lie—behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

⁹Don’t think to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

²⁴He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’

¹³So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man will perish, ¹⁴whose confidence will break apart, whose trust is a spider’s web.

¹⁸Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”

¹⁸But the path of the righteous is like the dawning light that shines more and more until the perfect day. ¹⁹The way of the wicked is like darkness. They don’t know what they stumble over.
