Matthew 20:13

⁵⁰Jesus said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

¹²and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.

¹⁴What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be! ¹⁵For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

⁸who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men? ⁹For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.’ ¹⁰“Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. ¹¹For the work of a man he will give to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. ¹²Yes surely, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.

²⁵May it be far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn’t the Judge of all the earth do right?”

²⁰But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?”

⁸Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?

¹⁷Should even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty, ¹⁸who says to a king, ‘Vile!’ or to nobles, ‘Wicked!’?
