Matthew 2:22

¹⁷The LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, says: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go. ¹⁸Oh that you had listened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

³⁹When they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.

⁵²They answered him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”

⁶Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. ⁷He led them also by a straight way, that they might go to a city to live in.

²Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.” The LORD said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.’

¹²Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.

¹³Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”

²⁴You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

⁸The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more.

⁴¹Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “What, does the Christ come out of Galilee? ⁴²Hasn’t the Scripture said that the Christ comes of the offspring^[+] of David,and from Bethlehem,the village where David was?”

¹³Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan^[+] to John, to be baptized by him.
