Matthew 14:11

⁶For they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. They deserve this.”

³and say, ‘The Lord GOD says to Jerusalem: “Your origin and your birth is of the land of the Canaanite. An Amorite was your father, and your mother was a Hittite. ⁴As for your birth, in the day you were born your navel was not cut. You weren’t washed in water to cleanse you. You weren’t salted at all, nor wrapped in blankets at all.

²and say, ‘What was your mother? A lioness. She couched among lions, in the middle of the young lions she nourished her cubs. ³She brought up one of her cubs. He became a young lion. He learned to catch the prey. He devoured men.

⁷Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

¹⁷But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and for doing violence.”

¹⁰The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.

⁴Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before jealousy?

⁶I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.

⁶therefore, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I will prepare you for blood, and blood will pursue you. Since you have not hated blood, therefore blood will pursue you.
